Corydoras barbatus — Bearded Corydoras
Bearded Corydoras are one of the largest corydoras species, with males developing impressive bristle-like odontodes on their cheeks and pectoral fins that resemble a beard. Native to coastal rivers of southeastern Brazil around São Paulo, they are robust fish that can handle a wider range of water conditions than most corydoras. Their unusual appearance and feisty personality set them apart from their relatives.
