Graptemys pseudogeographica kohni — False Map Turtle

The False Map Turtle (Mississippi subspecies) is a North American map turtle with subtle map-like markings on its olive-brown carapace and thin yellow striping on its skin. It inhabits large rivers and lakes with strong currents and is an excellent swimmer. Females grow significantly larger than males, and both require clean, well-oxygenated water to thrive.
