Apistogramma agassizii — Flame Dwarf Cichlid
The Flame Dwarf Cichlid (Apistogramma agassizii) is a classic and widely kept apisto from the Amazon River main channel, beloved for the spectacular flame-shaped caudal fin of males that blazes in shades of red and orange. It is a hardy and adaptable species compared to many apistos, tolerating a somewhat wider range of water parameters. Males can be territorial, especially during spawning, but are manageable in a well-decorated tank.
