Corbicula species — Golden Clam
The Golden Clam is a small, triangular bivalve with a smooth golden-yellow shell that brightens up the aquarium substrate. It is a filter feeder that draws suspended particles from the water column, making it a natural water clarifier. Found widely across Asian freshwater systems, it burrows into soft substrate and requires good water flow and fine sand to survive long-term.
