Tylomelania sp. — Lava Rabbit Snail

The Lava Rabbit Snail sports a dark, almost black elongated shell with a textured surface resembling volcanic rock, contrasted by a light-colored, wrinkled foot. Like other Tylomelania species, it is a slow, peaceful grazer that scavenges substrate for algae and detritus. It originates from the ancient lakes of Sulawesi and demands warm, hard, alkaline water conditions.
