Breviceps adspersus — Mozambique Rain Frog

The Mozambique Rain Frog is a small, round-bodied terrestrial frog from sub-Saharan Africa known for its comically grumpy facial expression and habit of inflating its body as a defense mechanism. It is a burrowing species that spends most of its time underground, emerging after rainfall to feed and breed. Unlike most frogs, it lacks a tadpole stage — young hatch directly as fully formed froglets.
