Nerite Snails (Neritina spp.) are among the best algae-eating snails available, tirelessly grazing on various types of algae including diatoms and green spot algae. They come in beautiful patterns — zebra, tiger, horned, and olive varieties are most common. A key advantage is that they cannot reproduce in freshwater, preventing population explosions.
