Otocinclus vittatus is one of several small loricariid catfishes sold under the name 'otocinclus' or 'dwarf suckermouth catfish,' reaching only 3.3 cm. They are highly effective algae grazers and are a popular choice for planted tanks, but can be sensitive to poor water quality and often need an adjustment period after import. Keeping them in groups of six or more helps reduce stress and promotes natural behavior.
