Epalzeorhynchus frenatus — Red-tailed Black Shark
Epalzeorhynchos frenatus, the Rainbow Shark, is a popular Southeast Asian cyprinid characterized by a sleek, shark-like black body contrasting with vivid orange-red fins. It is an active bottom-dweller that grazes on algae and organic debris across rocks and substrate. Despite its attractive appearance it is highly territorial and will aggressively defend its space, so tank planning with sufficient hiding spots and only one individual per tank is strongly advised.
