Panaque nigrolineatus — Royal Pleco (L190)

The Royal Pleco is one of the most recognizable loricariids, known for its bold black-and-white striped pattern and striking red eyes. Native to the Orinoco and Amazon basins, it is one of the very few fish capable of digesting wood (xylophage), and driftwood must be provided in captivity. It grows to 43 cm and requires a large aquarium with strong filtration to handle its significant waste output.
