Dermogenys pusila — Silver Half-beak
The Silver Half-beak is a slender, surface-dwelling livebearer widespread across Southeast Asia, instantly recognizable by its elongated lower jaw and reflective silver flanks. It inhabits slow-moving streams, ponds, and rice paddies, hovering just below the water surface to ambush small insects and larvae. A schooling species that thrives in well-planted tanks with a tight-fitting lid to prevent jumping.
